The Phase One Medical Story

Phase One Medical is an integrated research and development company focused on the specialty field of Interventional Medicine. We transform original ideas into innovative medical devices. Since our inception in 2001, we have been dedicated to creation of unique medical devices that solve complex clinical problems. Our products are backed by strong intellectual property and are characterized by inspired design and function.

The company has established a proven record of success in development of novel devices and technology that has lead to strategic acquisitions by global medical device firms.

Our first product, theEN Snare®, Endovascular Snare System incorporating proprietary technology and design elements was developed in conjunction with Hatch Medical. The product was acquired by Merit Medical Systems in June 2009. Phase One Medical supported the transfer, engineering and manufacturing scale-up activities.

Our second product, the Medical Device Anchor Technology, integrates the super elastic material properties of nitinol with proprietary anchoring design elements. The research program was a significant three year initiative by Phase One that lead to development of this pioneering technology platform. This technology was acquired by Nitinol Devices and Components, Inc (NDC) in March 2009.

In January 2010, we added in-house micro-machining and micro-molding capabilities. Having the in-house capacity to design and cut tooling followed by molding components has significantly accelerated our ability to move from idea to prototype to finished product.

In the third quarter of 2010 we expanded our company by adding component design and manufacturing. Our track record in product development, knowledge of materials & processes and expanded in-house capability allows us to leverage this know how into design and production of small high quality medical device parts.
