Historical clinical problems associated with use of chronic hemodialysis catheters include infection, intraluminal thrombosis, distal tip occlusion and complications caused by loss of catheter lock solutions. We believe the rate of occurrence of these clinical issues can be reduced.
It's time for a change in catheter design and expected clinical results. Phase One Medical has initiated a chronic hemodialysis catheter development program with a design objective of reducing catheter related complications.
